little rucksacks and krumholtz

It doesn't happen very often but yesterday, I was very irresponsible on the hill.

I had no bivi bag, no headtorch, no compass and no map.  Not because I didn't want to, but because I didn't know where I had packed them.

Thankfully I had a Heather with me who not only made sure that I never got lost but educated me all about krumholtz - the sculpting of vegetation by wind, frost or sea salt.  I suppose the summer equivalent of sastrugi?

Having cycled in, backing the corbett, thought it would be a great idea to complete the trio and to go for a dip in Loch Morlich with guys from the Wild Highland Swimmers.

It has taken me until this morning to de-thaw.
