a lesson in suffering

There was absolutely no way the camera was coming out on todays climb - would have ended up in Braemar.

Literally got blown up the route and blown off the mountain.

Good old Scottish winter.

3 things

There were 3 things on my mind today:

No 1: John needed mileage.

No 2: To avoid the crowds.

No 3: The correct route choice.

I think we succeeded on all 3 counts today.

what a welcome

I got into trouble for taking a photo today at Aberdeen International arrivals.

Bugger - it was worth it.

and that was rjukan

A 60 meter climbing rope can seem a fairly lonely place when you are tied into the end of it.

Being the last day and all that, it had to be Vemork Bridge.

If we weren't going home tomorrow, it would have to be a rest day.

steep ice

Today, the team wanted steep ice, so they got it.

Had the entire crag to ourselves which meant that we could climb wherever we wanted to.

Needless to say, that they are all knackered this evening.

Only -11 today which meant that I never had to actually wear my primaloft pants - bonus.

still cold but manageable

We survived the day today without getting hypothermia.

It was still cold.

Caroline has managed to source some toe warmers for tomorrow so we are all going to have warm toe envy.

How many people to coil a rope?
